Berlin-based AI startup Caidera has closed a €300,000 pre-seed funding round to transform how heavily regulated industries handle marketing campaigns. According to Startbase, the investment is led by business angels from technology and regulatory sectors, including Alexander Birke, Prof. Dr. Rüdiger Zarnekow, Richard Gerstenberg, Dr. Benedikt Rechmann, and Kai Stubbe.

The company tackles a persistent pain point in pharma, medtech, and healthcare: approval processes for marketing campaigns that can drag on for weeks or even months. Caidera's AI platform promises to compress this timeline dramatically, completing what traditionally takes two months in just two hours.

Here's how it works: the platform analyzes regulatory requirements and scientific sources to automatically generate compliant content like newsletters, whitepapers, and social media posts. Instead of creating content first and then spending weeks in compliance review, marketing teams get pre-approved materials from the start. Every AI-generated statement is documented and backed by verifiable sources, which is crucial in industries where patient safety and legal liability are paramount.

Founders Max Sieg and Daniel Fernau launched Caidera in 2024 through the Science & Startup Program, a network connecting Charité, FU, TU, and HU Berlin. The duo identified the problem while consulting for major healthcare companies. "Marketing teams lose weeks to regulatory review processes, which paralyzes innovation," says Sieg.

The fresh capital will fund team expansion in development and operations while enhancing the platform's technical capabilities. Long term, Caidera plans to extend its solution to other regulated sectors including financial services, energy, and food industries.
