Berlin Fintech Mondu Lands €100M JP Morgan Deal

The Mondu team
Berlin fintech Mondu has secured a €100 million credit facility from J.P. Morgan Payments and joined the bank's prestigious Payments Partner Network, according to the company's press release. The deal marks a significant milestone for the rapidly growing B2B payment provider and signals strong investor confidence in Europe's evolving payment landscape.
So what does Mondu actually do? Think of it as "buy now, pay later" for businesses rather than consumers. When a company purchases supplies, equipment, or services from another business, Mondu steps in to offer flexible payment options. This means buyers can receive their goods immediately while spreading payments over time, improving their cash flow. Sellers, meanwhile, get paid upfront by Mondu, reducing their risk and boosting sales.
The timing couldn't be better. Europe's B2B e-commerce market is projected to hit $1.8 trillion in 2025, and demand for modern payment solutions is surging. The European BNPL market alone is expected to grow from $191.3 billion in 2025 to $293.7 billion by 2030, representing a 9% annual growth rate.
Through the partnership, Mondu gains access to J.P. Morgan Payments' extensive European client network of over 80 companies. This referral program will introduce Mondu's payment solutions to businesses seeking to optimize their payment processes and strengthen their working capital.
"This financing and strategic partnership clearly validate our business model and vision to simplify financial life for businesses," said Philipp Povel, Co-CEO of Mondu.
Founded in 2021 and headquartered in Berlin and Amsterdam, Mondu operates as a licensed electronic money institution across all EU markets. The company is backed by prominent investors including Valar Ventures, FinTech Collective, and Cherry Ventures.
