Berlin cybersecurity startup enclaive has raised €4.1 million in seed funding to expand its confidential computing solution, according to the company's press release. The round was co-led by Join Capital and the Amadeus APEX Technology Fund, with Auriga Cyber Ventures also participating.

The company addresses a critical challenge facing businesses today: protecting sensitive data while it's being processed in the cloud. While 59% of organizations hesitate to fully embrace cloud computing due to security concerns, enclaive offers a solution that shields data during its most vulnerable moment—when it's actively being used.

Think of it like this: most security measures protect data when it's stored or transferred, but what happens when applications are actually working with that information? enclaive's Multi Cloud Platform (eMCP) creates "secure enclaves" that keep data encrypted even during processing, ensuring it remains protected from unauthorized access at all times.

What sets the Berlin-based company apart is its practical approach. Organizations can deploy the platform across any cloud provider without rewriting code, changing tools, or overhauling existing processes. This "zero-code-change" solution makes confidential computing accessible to businesses regardless of their technical expertise.

"Cloud adoption has moved faster than trust," explains Andreas Walbrodt, co-founder and CEO. "As companies push AI and sensitive workloads into multi-cloud environments, they need security guarantees that go beyond policy and perimeter defenses."

The technology relies on hardware-based memory encryption that only the CPU can unlock. While this approach has existed in academic circles for years, enclaive has built the software layer that makes it deployable within days rather than months.

The fresh capital will fuel sales and marketing efforts, enhance the eMCP platform's functionality, and support international expansion. Founded in 2022, enclaive currently operates with a 20-person team distributed across Berlin and other EU locations. The company has already earned industry recognition, including the 2025 Prix Croissance at the InCyber Forum and the 2024 TeleTrust Product of the Year.
