Berlin-based venture capital firm seed+speed Ventures has successfully closed its third fund at €90 million, tripling its original target of €30 million. According to VentureCapital Magazin, the fundraising process, which began in summer 2024, concluded this week after raising the hard cap twice due to strong investor interest.

Founded by Carsten Maschmeyer and Alexander Kölpin, seed+speed III will focus on European B2B and enterprise software companies in the pre-seed and seed stages. The fund plans to make initial investments between €500,000 and €1.5 million, with several million euros available for follow-on funding per startup. For the first time, the fund is opening up to European startups beyond the DACH region, including companies from Benelux and Scandinavia.

The investment strategy centers on AI-related ventures that either develop artificial intelligence solutions for B2B enterprises or create tools to implement external AI more securely and efficiently within companies. seed+speed plans to invest in seven to nine new startups annually.

The fund provides portfolio companies with dedicated support teams for sales, PR, marketing, and social media, particularly helping them build scalable go-to-market structures across Europe. A notable vote of confidence comes from seven successful founders from previous seed+speed funds who have joined as limited partners after their exits.

Investors include institutional players such as banks and foundations, media groups, family offices, industry holdings, legal and tax professionals, real estate entrepreneurs, and high-net-worth individuals.

seed+speed has already invested in 13 startups from Fund III, including Orq.ai from Amsterdam, RIIICO from Düsseldorf, Optimuse from Vienna, and Eleven Dynamics from Switzerland. The firm's successful portfolio includes companies like Prezise.ai (exited), Finanzguru, pliant, Kertos, Prewave, Enginsight, and Orderlion.
