Berlin ClimateTech startup SQUAKE has secured fresh funding with Haufe Group Ventures joining as a new investor, according to a company press release. The investment adds to an existing consortium including Simon Capital, Neosfer, and Backbone Ventures, highlighting the growing importance of CO₂ transparency in travel and logistics.
SQUAKE's platform enables companies to precisely calculate emissions across their business travel and logistics chains, document them in compliance with regulations, and reduce them through certified measures. The solution has already convinced major clients including Siemens, BCD, Airbnb, and DB Schenker.
The additional funding will help SQUAKE develop its technology further and support mid-sized companies and corporations in meeting growing ESG requirements.
Tackling Scope 3 Emissions
With increasing ESG regulation—particularly CSRD and Scope 3 reporting—companies must disclose their ecological footprint in greater detail. The focus is on indirect emissions that occur outside the company itself, such as in supply chains or through business travel and transportation. These emissions often account for over 50% of total emissions in consulting companies and are particularly difficult to track.
SQUAKE addresses this challenge as an end-to-end provider, offering solutions from reporting and CO₂ reduction options during booking to billing, complete auditability through the Carbon Verification Protocol (CVP), and direct access to sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) and other insetting solutions.
"We see ourselves as enablers for companies that want to implement sustainability—not just document it—in a technological, scalable, and compliant way," explains Philipp von Lamezan, CEO and Co-Founder of SQUAKE.
Strategic Partnership
For Haufe Group Ventures, the venture unit of Haufe Group SE, the SQUAKE investment represents a logical step. "SQUAKE is a specialist for a highly relevant problem area. At a time when mid-sized companies are under regulatory pressure and non-financial reporting obligations are becoming reality, companies need solutions that provide practical relief," says Jasper Roll, Managing Director of Haufe Group Ventures.
The fresh capital will give SQUAKE room for further growth and product development, supporting their mission to guide companies toward genuine sustainability.
