Konvo AI Lands €3.5M to Boost Online Shopping

Berlin-based startup Konvo AI has closed a €3.5 million seed funding round to transform how ecommerce companies handle customer service. The investment was led by Samaipata, with participation from Abac Nest, JME, Itnig, Combination.vc, and notable angel investors including Deporvillage founder Xavier Pladellorens and early Ankorstore executive Tomás Pueyo. This brings the company's total funding to €4.3 million, according to Tech Funding News.
Unlike conventional chatbots that frustrate customers with scripted responses, Konvo AI has developed proactive AI agents that can autonomously engage shoppers, close sales, and resolve complex issues without human intervention. The platform's AI doesn't just answer questions – it takes real-world action, such as calling courier services about missing deliveries or recommending products based on customer browsing behaviour.
"Most AI agents follow rigid scripts," explains co-founder Guillem Oliva. "Our agents think like human associates and solve the real problem." For example, when a customer wants to cancel an order, Konvo's AI might recognise they simply selected the wrong size and update the order instead – saving the sale rather than processing a cancellation.
Oliva founded the company with Scott Kapelewski after meeting at WhatsApp marketing startup Charles in Berlin. Both former high-performance athletes, they combined Oliva's ecommerce consulting background from McKinsey with Kapelewski's decade of tech expertise to tackle a growing industry pain point.
The ecommerce customer service market is worth $12.5 billion and growing 10% annually, yet brands struggle with rising acquisition costs, 40% annual staff turnover, and increasing customer expectations for personalisation. Konvo aims to transform customer service from a cost centre into a revenue-driving engine.
The 13-person team, spanning 10 nationalities with 25% women, operates from Berlin and Barcelona. Looking ahead, Konvo plans to become Europe's leading AI agent platform for ecommerce before expanding globally.
