Berlin-based startup WALLROUND has successfully closed an oversubscribed seed funding round of €4.2 million, marking a significant step toward building Europe's largest renovation franchise. The 2024-founded company aims to make energy-efficient building renovations faster, more cost-effective, and economically viable.
The funding round was led by specialized VC fund Revent and impact investor GGF, with participation from Vonovia, Europe's largest real estate company, which increased its stake. The investment also coincides with the establishment of an advisory board featuring Kai Enders, former DACH CEO of Engel & Völkers and long-time president of the German Franchise Association.
According to the company's press release, WALLROUND addresses one of the real estate industry's biggest challenges: outdated, inefficient renovation processes that hinder the urgent transformation to energy-efficient buildings. The startup offers a fully integrated, technology-supported renovation solution covering everything from digital property analysis to planning, procurement, implementation, and quality assurance.
"WALLROUND is the first team that combines a true end-to-end tech solution with operational excellence," said Dr. Lauren Lentz, General Partner at Revent. The company specifically targets private landlords and institutional investors—a segment that holds a large portion of German residential real estate but has been underserved professionally.
CEO and co-founder Lukas Steinhilber explained their mission: "Our goal is to make renovations so simple that every property owner can decarbonize their building economically without barriers." The platform digitalizes and bundles all process steps, enabling faster, more profitable, and scalable renovations.
The fresh capital will fund nationwide expansion, automation of customer and planning processes, and key hires in technology, operations, and product development. With its integrated platform approach and process automation, WALLROUND promises shorter project timelines, transparent costs, and measurable CO₂ savings.
